Does anyone know of a SETI caching(sp) program that will handle one text client and
one GUI client.............that is easy to load and use?????

OK, now I have two folders on my desktop and a skymap. How do I get it to do
something useful, like download WU's, and start crunching?

Should I delete SETI Monitor first?

Thanks for the help. The printer has about ten pages to go before I can even start reading but
I'm sure I will have many questions.

Currently I use SETI Monitor and have about 2200 GUI WU's done. My goal is t keep using
the GUI and download a text client since I have a 3.0 HT chip, so my questions will be
oriented toward that. I will be keeping the GUI for one client since I started with that
three years ago with a 300MHz Celeron.

klaatu51, the cli client is almost twice as fast as the gui client...believe me, it's worth switching it...😉

Much easier to use the client with setidriver and setidriver will setup two processes when you install it. Plus as amdxborg said it is much faster

Thanks folks. I understand that the text client is faster, but....I started with the GUI about four
years ago (think I said three earlier), and want ot stay with it until SETI ends and then I
will probably start folding.

My printer cut off some of the instructions so I will reprint using smaller font and try to install
everything this evening.

I know I will have questions about setting up some type of second folder so there will be
enough questions for everyone to answer.

BTW, the set-up instructions are great, almost easy enough for me to understand....not quite,
but almost.

I wonder if you'll end up just hurting yourself by running both.
I've been told that running the GUI on a true dual system that one processor will do the number crunching & one will generate the graphics. I wonder if the same is true for a HT system? If so, you might just be better off running only the GUI, since you want to run that so bad.
