Each of the fans comes with 2 cables, one with holes, other with sticking out needles. I can put the holes one into the cables coming from my power supply. Is that enough or must the other cable be connected to something as well?

Umm? What? Is it a dual tailed fan? It would have a 4 pin molex connector (would look like the power connector on the back of a hard drive and would be meant to connect to one of the power supply connectors just like the HD does) and a 3 pin molex connector (about half the size of the 4 pin type, capable of being plugged into the header on the motherboard).

3 pin (orange/red/brown) type and 4 pin type (white and not attached to the fan) shown here http://www.newegg.com/app/Showimage.asp?image=11-999-004-05.jpg/11-999-004-04.jpg

Yes indeed, just plug them into the power supply. The extra end allows you to still plug in another device, so you don't run out of plugs. You could chain the second fan onto the first one, for instance, or use it for a hard drive, or just let it sit vacant.
