Are the cable "kits" that come with all attachments, USB, Cat5, Firewire etc pretty good or are they crap compared to just buying a normal single use only cable.

I am needing a firewire 6 -> 4 pin to pull video from my mini-DV cam, but for the price of a belkin I can get a kit.

Unless you talk to a monster cable rep; in which case all other cables are crap and will break your computer, stereo, tv and anything else "cheap" cables are attached to.


a salesperson told me that the dvi cable that came with my samsung dvd player *can* damage the tv. I was like wtf ever dude and went somewhere else.
