Well 3AM here in Philly. My @home cable totally sucks. I can't play any games online with a 40 ping spiking to 400 every 5 secs. Various bandwith tests average 600/200 for my line and did I mention its 3AM? Maybe its holiday break... but this used to be my time... when I could get a decent, stable ping. Forget about that now. Anyone else having horrible performance in the Philly area? Comcast AD machine is making me sick... at least 1 million new subscribers in our area on existing nodes = 🙁 I would get DSL but have to sign a contract for 1.5/384 line and plan to move soon anyway. Looks like I am stuck with no internet gaming until I move.
 

Well i get my cable disconnected every ten minutes, how do you think about that?

I can't even upload my files (0.23K). I'm P**** OFF.
 
Well I lose my connection a lot too... especially when playing online. Just did another speed test... and only got 606/191. If the latency wasn't so horrible I wouldn't mind but a 2000 ping just plain sux.
 
Yeah... its been almost 2 years with cable for me and for 1.5 of it its been great. Only within the past say 6 months has it been horrible. When its good its GREAT (can get 400KBsec downloads) but thats maybe 2 hours of the day. I miss all my clan matches cause I can't play effectively. Oh well...
 
Dude I have called them up and sent them a tracert with images of my latency. Just did one today and got an average 23% loss thru the last 7 hops... all @home gateways. The 6th and the rest were not and showed ZERO latency. I've bitched to them plenty of times. I called them about a month ago and thought the problem was soon to be fixed. My speed and latency were excellent for about a week then it crawled again. Just right now tried to play some Tribes and ping went from 20 to 999 often, or my download light just shut off for a few secs then resumed.
