It looks like it's a DOCSIS 2.0 modem. My parents had the same issue a few years ago until they replaced the modem.

Had them schedule a tech to come out and look at the line. Everything was working fine until I saw them messing with the line outside a few days ago. The support rep was convinced it was something in my house though and wanted to charge me to have a tech sent out. I told her no way and to have them check the line only and they finally agreed... 2 hours later.

I love when they do this stuff. Charge me for a tech to tell me its my equipment when its not, then the next day there's a Comcast truck across the street futzing up on the power pole and it's mysteriously fixed.

They'll push it onto you every time they can.
