Cable TV setup?

Anyone know how to get the signal to a TV? I have a line coming in the house straight to the cable modem. Can i buy a Y split and put it to both the modem and TV? or VRC? Do i need a filter or buy a cable box?
 
Wow. Take one end of the coaxial cable and screw it into the wall. Take the other end of the cable and screw it into the back of the TV.
