Cable TV...I NEED MORE CHANNELS!

OK i have the basic cable and i was told its just a filter blocking my other channels in the box on the pole.. but i live in an apartment complex so is there a way i can get to the filter? the guy came to install my road runner the other day and used a tool.. it plugs into the coax outlet in the house and must send a signal to the box or something and then he could determine where it was at... any information or websites for more information would greatly be appreciated..

anybody remember that guy who got sued by the cable company because they DIDN't put a filter on his cable line. He only wanted Internet but they said he was stealling cable.

I could tell you, I know how; but before I do you do realize that what you are asking for is illegal, correct? It's called cable theft and is punishable by jail time and a massive fine. That's like walking up to the police and asking where you can buy some pot.

Just pay for cable. The fine and embarassement is much higher than a lifetime of cable tv fees.

well just to clarify this situation.. 1. i am not a n00b.. only little kids who THINK they "31337" use words like "n00b" im a networking major of 3 years(almost done).. and further more im not a "noob" on here i just dont post unless i have something everyone else doesnt have to offer which isnt much on a site with over 100,000 memebers. 2nd.. i dont want to rip off anyone, including the cable company.. im merely interesting in gathering information on just about anything and this topic is included...

but like i said this is just to clarify a few things.. for the guy who left the link.. i appreciated your maturity and help..
