Cable tv from cable modem?

How exactly does the signal from a cable modem correspond with the signal for cable tv? I have a cable modem and broadcast tier tv (local channels and a few national channels like tnt and tbs). The reason I ask is because one of the channels I should get doesn't come in completely and I want to get that channel since I'm paying for it. The only cable company around here has given me nothing but trouble for a long time and they continually refuse to acknowledge that there is even a problem with my service. I get the picture but it is very blurry and the only sound is white noise. Is the signal for full cable coming across the cable modem in a manner that I could access it, or are they only sending me what they want me to see (which is not what I'm paying for)?

They *should* co-exist just fine.

Not too much else you can do, other than fight with the Cable Provider.

Try and talk to management or something. Make yourself and your problem known.
