Hey i simply wanted to know if there was some type of splitter and/or extention cable for Cold cathode cables. I have 4 12" UV CCs in my case ( they are dim, and i like how the 4 look) and i want to get a vantec nexus fan/light controller, but it only has 2 ports on it for CCs. I wanted to know if there was some sort of splitter that could turn that one port into two? thanks

What, a Y-splitter for molex power connections? Of course they make them. Just search the web and/or Newegg... you can probably just get them at CompUSA.

no no no, if you look at cold cathodes, i thinkk they use DC power, so they dont use molex, they are on some type of white wire with a small white connecter. I need a y splitter for this type of conenction, and possible and extender

Come on man, stop with the excessive bumping. 4 hours, or until the post makes it to the second page.

you cant. and shouldnt. First, CCs use high voltage and low current. You will need to find wires with high voltage insulation rated for about 3000V. And the CCs use AC power, so an inverter is used. These are current sensitive devices, so if you pull too much current from the CCs, you blow the inverter, and can either cause a fire, or destroy the rest of your computers. What youw ant to do is just get standalone CCs with inverters.

Get an AT PSU with a switch and plug the lights and extra fans to it then you can turn it on or off...Also CC's come with dual convertors so if you open it up you mabe able to hook up an extra light there and follow them out with 1 rocker switch

can you either link me to an AT PSU or tell me what AT stands for lol. Does it have the ports for the lights or does it just have molex you can turn on and off, cause that would be good too.

AT PSU's are a thing of the past and they did not need to be connected to the Mobo's for them to work because of the lack of Power Mgt so you could just add a switch. You can do a Google search and still find them or you can do This Mod with a separate ATX PSU.

is there a PSU thats small enough that it could be hidden lol? This seems good but a little too much. i wish there was an easier way to do this.

get a switch, and mount it somewhere in your case, and wire it to remove power from the MOLEX part of the inverter.

This is why I informed you of the extra PSU which can be placed outside of the Case and it is better to have an external power source for running gadgets that consume power that is not constantly used and seperate from essential items !~
