Cable sleeving - flagging tape?

I was looking
here and this seems like a much easier method...I've found blue flagging tape (my preferred color) online for cheap. Looks good in pcitures...haven't found the "liquid electrical tape" that the article mentions though.

Actually that looks pretty cool and does not seem like it is so hard to set up. I may have to consider that myself...

Obviously beauty is in the eye of the beholder. All that orange just makes the case look like a case full of flouresant spaghetti. Perhaps a different color might make a difference, but there has to be a better way to make it look nice. I don't have a window on my PC so I don't care what color the wires are.

Isn't the old black the same as the new black? My rig is back in black... Black as night, in fact... I only use black sleeving with black shrink tubing when I do the sleeving at all.

I'd be concerned about the ghetto sleeving being too stiff, or coming unwrapped while you move the wires about. Just like if you were to wrap the wires with electrical tape, it will be much, much stiffer than using the sleeving materials and such. Also, when you get the sleeving materials, you purchase it by the foot. At certain points, the price per foot goes down. I don't get my shrink tubing from the place I get the sleeving from, because they charge more than I can get it for locally. I also avoid radio smack, since they charge too much for it as well.

This reminds me, I should probably sleeve up my NeoPower PSU sometime in the near future...

flagging tape is very flexible. I would venture to say that it would be even after being wrapped around something a few times.

And the wrong tool/item for the job. With the sleeving material, you don't have to worry about wrapping it tight enough, running out part way through some wires, or anything like that. You can easily see how much you have left and KNOW if you'll need to order any more soon. Plus, it's easy to sleeve small wire bundles with the mesh material... I have to wonder what would happen if you dropped the roll that the ghetto stuff is on... I don't care HOW careful you think you'll be, one of the times, you'll drop it and then it will be all over the place. Unless it has an adhesive back, in which case it will [eventually] start to move on it's own from the temp changes inside the case.

To sleeve a power supply, just get the stuff made for it. If you don't have the money for it now, just save up until you do have it.

It isn't really a matter of money...I already have one UV blue sleeving kit (xoxide.com accidentally sent it to me and then told me that they didn't want me to return it) and I've got a better, more complete kit on the way. I'm just not looking forward to the hours of work it'll take to do it.

IMHO that thing is for slackers,regardless if you give it a %100 effort or not it will still look like half a$$ job.
