cable setup in linux (rh 6.2)

Hi, i just installed RH 6.2 (can't be bothered to download 7 yet), and i can't seem to get my cable connection to work. i tried letting it configure using DHCP, and manually (using all the info they supplied). I installed linux a while ago and it worked fine then, but i think it might have been a different network card. Could it be that this version of linux doesn't support that card? or should that not be a problem?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thx

Does your cable provider use static arp entries? In, possibly, more plain english: each network card has something called a MAC address. Does your provider "bind" this address to your IP or your profile?

Might want to call and ask.
