Cable/Router problems. VERY NEW AT ALL THIS

Situation: 3 computers, and i have a cable line. i want to share a net connection so that we can use cable at the same time. I just installed some ethernet cards in the computers. If the computers are NOT networked yet, can I just plug them into the router, and establish a network connection for sharing the net. If so, than how (again, i am very new, so i don't really know what all the teckie terms mean)

I connected the cat5 cables into each ethernet card, and i plugged the cables into the router. I also plugged the cable modem line into the router (i think that port was called the wan cable port or something). Now, i restarted my computers. What do i do next?

You're on the right track. Make sure that all your computers are set to "obtain IP automatically". It would help to know which OS you're running on your computers. I'm assuming that you posted your last message after you plugged everything in, so it must be working right?

Gee, we all can see in your house right now and can tell which ISP you use, which router you have, which OS you use. But even after knowing all of this very usefull information we refuse to help you figure it out 😉

What brand router? Just read the manual; it should tell you how. If you don't have the manual, you can probably download it from the maker's website. You will need to configure your primary computer, then the other computers, and then configure the router. I've used LinkSys and SMC devices without much trouble.
