cable, or not to cable. that is the question

ok this is my story. i live with my girlfriend. she has a cousin who lives with her. he has been begging his mom/dad to get the internet, and he said that he wanted road runner. but you see, when they called the cable company to get rr, they said that he needed to upgrade his ram, from 16 - 32 or something along those lines. so they waited, and waited, and finally he gave up waiting, and just told his mom to get him dial up access. so, the other day i hear that they're going out somewhere and guess where they went? to get a NEW phone line installed just so he can dial up onto the net. so basically, a new phone line installation is about 100+ dollars, and again, paying for the basic phone line a month is like what, 20-30 bucks? then now he has to pick a isp, im guessing hes going to go with aol, prodigy, or msn or something that came with his 1987 computer. today i hear him babbling about "yeah in two days im getting the internet, and im going to download music with napster!" and i think to myself "what a moron." for one, his modem is most likely a 14.4, and his hard drive is i think still in the mb's. but in all in all, i hope he has fun waiting for web pages to load. i just had to rant about this. thanks for listening.
