Another thing cable stations like TBS will do is show a 1.75 hour movie in a 3.5 hour timeslot, and show a ridiculous number of commercials. I once timed it at alternating five minutes of movie with five minutes of commercials.

So yeah, I cut the cord years ago.

Like it used to be when tv first came out?

Heh, thanks for the flashback jolt. I started recalling all of those cheezy black and white product plugs by celebrities, most notably those by Marion Robert Morrison and all of those flashy yet trite ciggie commercials. :D

I can't watch commercial TV anymore.
Channel surfing lands you on commercial after commercial. Never an actual program.
I have to record and FF or "jump" thru the commercials, or better yet get the podcast, if available.
I always watch the podcast of political shows and news shows. No commercials.
I can take a normal dose of commercials, but when they basically interrupt commercials for the show itself, that is going too far.
And too, with more homes dumping cable and satellite for other less expensive program sourcing, the commercials will just get worse.
Well actually, they already are worse.
Tivo anyone? ;)
