hi
i've been having problems with my wireless connection lately and can't fix it. each time i turn on the laptop, it says " Limited or no connectivity. You might not be able to access the Internet or some network resources. This problem occured because the network did not assign a network address to the computer." It even say this when i tried connecting the cable directly from the cable modem. So wireless or wire, it doesn't work Once every couple of days it automatically works. I just turn on the laptop, and its connected. And when i turn off the laptop, next time i turn it on it stops working again. I tried it as a secured network and unsecured network and that still doesn't work. i'm using the cheap linksys wireless router. the laptop i'm using is a 700m with wifi. i need help asap. i also tried connecting with a brand new 700m and it says the samething. only computer working is the 1 desktop that i have. it connects normally but not wireless. please help
thanks

is your laptop set up to automatically acquire an IP address? or do you have a static IP set up?

you may need to do mac address cloning on your router if you hooked your laptop up to the cable modem directly before you hooked it up to the router

Are you using the Linksys Network utility or the Windows Wireless Zero Config.? Try swapping. .... just a quick suggestion... good luck.

i think its set to automically acquire an ip address. i tried bringing my laptop to work today and it works fine. all i had to do was plug the cat5 from the router to my laptop and i'm connected. i also tested out the wireless and it works fine. both ways didn't require any configuration.

Turn off your cable modem and laptop. Boot the modem up, then after a minute or two the laptop. If that doesn't work then call your provider.
