Cable Modems suck ( a rant about taxes and fees)

Called up about cable high speed internet for 19.99 a month and it's only 19.99 if you already have cable tv which I don't so it's really 29.99 plus $25 plus taxes and fees which are another $10 or so.

So first month will be about $66.........such a deal

SBC DSL is $30 a month and no extra fees so I think I will go that route agian.

My only problem with cable modem is when it goes down for and takes forever to get customer service, by then its back up and running.

my mom is on at&t in chicago, shes like 50 feet from the hub, its across the road, for $29 a month she gets 2m down and 1m+ up.

seems to be capped at 2m.

You don't pay sales tax, but you still have a state tax, and also you have federal taxes on your cable, phone, etc.
