Cable modem

My cable modem has two outputs: network and USB.
Can I use both to connect two computers to the Internet?

Thanks

Yes, I understand how to setup home network. But is it OK to use both network and USB outputs in the same time.

i believe that in MOST scenarios, most modem models cannot use both the USB AND the network connection at the same time, it jsut wasnt something that was considered needed. However now i think it would depend solely on the weather or not the modem supports that feature. for example i did a little hunting and found this one

in one of the reviews one person states it a strength of the unit, that it can use both ethernet and USB, so to answer your question, on some level, yes it is possible.

The Motorola Surfboard modems are OK to use that way. You can use both the USB and ethernet to hook up 2 PC's. I believe they even market them with this stated on the box and/or website. I remember reading it somewhere.
