Cable modem Wi-Fi problems

Started to use Time Warner cable out in NYC. Using a Netgear NE814 wireless router with it. I detect a signal, net works. But after 1 hour or so, the connection hangs, and internet doesn't work. After disconnecting power from router and cable modem, it starts to work again. But I have to do this every hour so it doesn't hang. Any recommendations on what to do?

I have a similar problem with time warner. I have a wifi card, but I don't keep it in when I've got my ethernet cable in. It seems like the connection hangs every 15 minutes, and I have to pull the ethernet plug out, and then in again for it to work.
