Cable modem recommendations?

I found that the Toshibas are very reliable, Motorolas aren't too bad, but stay away from Best Data, and Smart One (both have failed for me).

i would recommend toshibas. motorolas or scientific atlanta

No problems with the original BEFCMU10 but I no longer own it... I'll check out all the recommendations above. Thanks all :)

Will have Cox cable actually. Went ahead and ordered from Newegg for $63 shipped as I won't need it for a couple of weeks. Thanks to all for the advice.

I don't have a 5100, but my Motorola Surfboard 4100 cable modem has been delivering flawless service for about 2 years now. (Been using it with Comcast, which - contrary to some people's experiences - has provided me with excellent service.)

Just out of curiosity, would I see any meaningful benefit from upgrading to a 5100? What are the principle differences between the two modems?
