cable modem question

I just started subscribing to a cable modem service and am interested in going online with my Dreamcast. Is there an adapter that turns the cable into a phone plug which I can then plug into the Dreamcast's phone jack? I have an external modem with ethernet and USB ports on it. Thanks

uhmmm coax cable (your cable modems data cable) to phone cable (rj-11) isn't possible...unless of course you want to spend a HUGE amount of money. But even then its not worth it ever.

does the dreamcast use a phone jack for internet access?
If thats the case, you'll probably need to get dial up for it...but i'm not sure about dreamcast technology.
Hope that helps!
Good luck!

You need to get a Dreamcast Broadband Adapter. It snaps right onto where the existing Dreamcast Modem is. The adapter card has an RJ45 jack that can be plugged straight into a hub or router.

Note that only a handful of DC games support the BBA. There is also a browser, which is sort of neat, but not really that useful for someone who has a PC system already.
