I got a cable modem, first I had the usb, I kept getting disconected, so I had to restart my computer, then it would work for a couple of minutes, then disconect again, so I went for a PCI ethernet card, and it won't conect at all, everythings configured corectly, I've called tech support about 20 times, I reformated and re installed windows, and still nothing, any ideas?

i have road runner with time warner
the s/w uses quicktime to setup the IE specific for road runner, etc
and the s/w works fine for 95/98 people (install it without needing internet connection) but doesn't install for nt/2k people
i d/l quicktime from apple to install in 2k before installing road runner s/w but the quicktime installer needs to connect with apple for registration
what problems for something that's suppose to be easy

1. Could be that the installations of Win98, rearranged your IRQ assignment creating some conflict.

2. What about authentication?

Most Cable providers need the MAC number of your NIC to authenticate (Password).
