May be wrong forum - but I'm curious how this crowd feels about RoadRunner. I'm generally happy - but e-mail service seems to get hung up fairly often. What is your experience?

ShizNut -
No - I have it- and love the speed - but are the rr e-mail issues common for everyone?

I have had no troubles with my RR....... runs very nicely and super fast. Time Warner sure as heck set that bad boy up right by not pulling data from the main cable trunks like other cable services!!!!!!

Massachusetts Road Runner here (now AT&T Broadband).

Love it, no problem, plenty fast and cheap!

Have it here in NYC! I have no complaints except for the cap. I know 2000/328 is enough but i want more!!!

I don't have RR, but Charter Pipeline in N Illinois sucks. On the msn speed test I only get around 20KB/s and my upload seems to be capped at 120kb/s. The service also sucks, last saturday they were supposed to come at 3p.m. and never showed up. I wish we had RR here.

I'm in High Point. Is that close enuf to Raleigh? ;-)

RR is great! (after the registry tweaks to W2k from speedquide.net)

Raleigh RR is great. Their "installation" sucks (ours was done by a fellow from some 3rd world country who barely spoke English). He suggested we leave their ugly black cable lying over the middle of our floor (DUH!) instead of moving it to a less obtrusive location.

I would say 1) Install your own network card and 2) Have lots of cable ready to do whatever wiring you neeed yourself.

Pretty stable service; it goes out once in a while (maybe every few days), but the majority of these are fixed within 5 min. So I'm not too upset.

Make sure you have everything figured out with the administration and billing - it is a PAIN to get through to them and talk to anyone knowledgeable if you have problems.

Regardless of all of these headaches, I still recommend it because it's FAST! Woohoo, pings of 30-40 in games ROCK!

I've had RR for 6 months and haven't set up my email account with them yet ;)
