cable modem in win2k???????????

ok i just installed win2k and i have a cable connection and every time i open i explorer it says work offline or connect if i click connect i can go on the internet its not a major problem it just gets annoying does anyone know how to get rid of that box
 
i would try and make sure that the info in the connections tab is correct in Inet options.
goto tools > internet option > connection and run the setup again. you should select that you have an exiting connection to the internet via LAN. always choose LAN.
