Guys,

I am so annoyed. I just signed up for Road Runner in my house. It runs soooooooooo slow. Almost as fast as a FAST dial up. I spoke to three levels of tech support and the last guys said to just wait and give it some time. I know it varied by neighborhood, but a coworker lives in the same neighborhood and his is fast and he has a lot older computer than I do.

I think some of the problem lies in the fact that I think the cable guy hooked my cable off of my neighbors lien or something like that. We had our house remodeled a few years back and all the cable liens were took down.

I am writing to see what I can tell Time Warner to do to fix this problem. I just called ATT and DSL is available in my area for 39.99, a 5 dollar savings to RR. Any help or suggestions?

Call back Road Runner support and tell them that you got disconnected from a Tier 2 support person. The first level folks usually aren't much help.... what is your speed test from DSLreports.com showing?

You could try going to speedguide.net, and using the TCP/IP Optimizer offered.

EDIT: At DSLreports, my speed with Adelphia Powerlink is 2391 kbps download (A 291.8 KB/sec transfer rate), and 124 kbps upload. That is using their Megapath, CA server. (I am in Virginia)
