recently i've been having trouble getting my two computers that i want to network to show up on the network neighborhood. today i fixed that up and got them to do everything ok when i uninstalled the NIC to my cable modem. i was able to transfer files, ping, etc..
then, i reinstalled the cable modem to this computer (i want to do an ICS), and now this computer cant be seen on the network anymore.
i have no idea whats up, but i know its the cable modem's NIC thats making it so that this comptuer cant be seen on the network. the NIC is USB, not sure if that'll make a difference though.
what i want to do is get a network between the two computers, and then have ICS between them with the cable modem, unfortunately, this cable modem makes it so that this computer cant be seen on the network, so i cant do it.
any idea how i can fix this?
btw, my PCI NICs are connected to each other through a crossover cable, they're the same type of D-link NICs, hardware is ok. its just that the instant i reinstall my USB NIC the computer cant be seen on the network.
