Cable modem and USB

Is there any andvantage to connect Cable modem via USB over connecting to nic? Right now I have 2 nics in my computer to share Inetrnet. Will I be able to do same thing?

No advantage and some disadvantages. Cable modems that connect directly to a USB port have disadvantages, and you'll have more flexibility with one that has an ethernet connector. I've connected cable modems and DSL modems to a USB NIC when a PCI slot hasn't been available, but you can run into compatibility problems with USB NICs also - sometimes they'll disconnect for no apparent reason. If you've got two PCI NICs running smoothly, I'd just keep it as it is.

I'd rather have my PCI NIC controller handling the connection than
my CPU-dependent USB controller.

USB can only share via software NAT (no Routers for USB).

As the gentelman above said ?CPU-dependent USB controller?.

As a result USB modems are slower then Ethernet Modems.

However if you can not open your computer, you don?t have empty PCI slot, or you are absolutely out of IRQs. You don?t have another choice.
