Cable Modem and Router Issues

Hey guys, normally I'm just in the For Sale section, but I am having some networking problems, and I am hoping one of you have the solution.

Anyways, today my I upgraded my cable service from 25/3 mbit, to 60/5 mbit.
The tech guy came out and swapped a Motorola Surf DOCSIS 2.0 to a new Ubee DOCSIS 3.0 modem. He set up the modem, and got it all connected to the internet.

After it was all set up, and began to reassemble my wireless network.
Coax -->Ubee Cable Modem-->Ethernet-->Linksys E3000 router.

My problem: I can't get the Linksys to properly connect to the cable modem.

I can have a home network just fine, connect to the wireless network just fine..
But the damn Router won't get assigned an IP address from the cable modem, and I have no idea why. Airgo - I can't access the internet. All I have is a home network with no Net access...

Anyways, anyone have any ideas as to what is going on?

I consider myself to be a generally computer savvy guy, so if you have an idea and its complicated, please share. I will understand.

Usually, cable modems only allow a single MAC address to connect to without a reboot. Try powering off both the router and modem for 30 seconds and powering both back in. If that doesn't work, hook the original equipment back up that worked with the modem (whether it was a laptop/desktop, etc.). Grab the MAC address off of that device, and login to your router. It should support something called MAC address cloning, which will trick your modem into thinking it's connected to the original device that it registered with. Enter the MAC of the device, and it should be good to go.

Your routers mac address is probably associated with the old modems serial number. Sometimes you need to leave the modem and router unplugged for 30 - 45 minutes for the head-end equipment to release the association.

If all else fails, call tech support.

Sorry, I forgot to add.
I have done simultaneous 30-30-30 resets on both devices - and I have reset the E3000 to the default firmware settings.

I will try that Mac Address cloning though. I have seen that setting under the router configuration before. It was set up with my roommates laptop, which would explain plenty. Thanks guys! I'll let you know once I try it out.
