Cable keeps dropping connection...

I've only had cable for about a month now, as it just came into the area. Before every once in a while it would drop the connection and I had to wait about 15 mins and it would be back on, but over the past few days it stays off for hours at a time, the modem just sits and blinks. Could this be a modem problem or a provider problem? They've also been advertising a lot so I think they are taking on more customers so maybe this is causing it?

You should call their customer support and state that you have 'no service' when this happens. Call them each time it happens. Likely a line-man will need to come out and fix a splitter somewhere.

This is a bad cable or splitter somewhere.
Is your Tv reception bad too?

Call customer service and be insistent that they fix it.
