My cable is really fuzzy. When I unplug my (cable) modem it clears up. Anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

Crappy cable at your modem, or cheesy splitter. Get good stuff. :)
It was explained to me as something to do with fm radio leaking in or out. (I didn't pay much attention.)

I bought the good stuff. I get it at cost so I would be dumb not too.

And how would the crappy cable at my modem affect my tv?

I am actually using really nice cable. The rest of the place is wired in with bulk cable, then crimp on connectors. The cables to the tv and computer came with the connectors already on them and are really good quality.

Check my edit.
The cable guys came in and fixed mine from doing the same thing. They hooked up a little handheld gizmo and were able to check for leaks. They said I could wrap all my connectors in the house with black tape if I wanted to be super anal.

I remember what else they did...
They replaced my amplifier. They also replaced my cable from the pole and out through my yard. The cable splits once and goes straight to my modem. The other side of the split goes to the amplifier.
It's coming to me slowly... :)

On a similiar note, when I am using a lot of my bandwidth, channel 3 becomes fuzzy.
