my cable service has dynamic ip, do ISP change IP while i am online?

because sometimes when I go sleep and get up, I see there is nothing happening on the WAN.

when I renew ip address in the router, everything works fine.

or is this my router problem? d-link di-704
 
i doubt its your router, isp's do change ips sometimes depending on how long the lease lasts...but that shouldnt effect your internet =/
 
My ISP is AT&T Broadband (formerly MediaOne RoadRunner). Same situation as you, Cable Modem with DHCP.

Yes, I've had the ISP end lease on an IP WHILE I was online! Lucky for me I recognized it as such and just did a /renew.

It's not your router.
