I live in the DC, VA, MD area. Are there any cable internet companies that do month to month contracts instead of yearly contracts?

I live in Chevy Chase... got Comcast. It works fine.

No cable company will make you sign up for a year. You're not buying a cell phone.

19.99 for the first three months
39.99 afterwards

That was the last deal they had.

Why not get Verizon DSL or FIOS (if available)? Dunno if it's changed, but they let me do month-to-month when I signed up.

Cable companies may have unique monopolies. You may not have a choice on who will provide the ISP service.

Arlington, VA here. It's either Comcast or Verizon DSL. I have Comcast have been very satisfied aside from like a 3 day period a month or so ago where there DNS servers were acting up.
