Cable internet and my Model DG834G

Hello,

Can someone please help me.

I'm planning to cancel my DSL connection and connect to cable.

I've been using my trusty Netgear DG834G for DSL connection and connecting to it wirelessly from my computer and wireless laptop.

If i move to cable, can i still somehow use my DG834G to act as a wireless access point?
that is, can i connect the cable to DG834G and then have my wireless laptop connect to DG834G and be able to access the internet?

Or will my DG834G become obsolete and i'm forced to purchase a wireless access point?

I'm trying to avoid having to purchase additional equipment as a result from the move to cable.
