Cable Gateway keeps dropping AIM connection

I just recently bought a Linksys Wireless-G Cable Gateway (WCG200) to go with my Adelphia Cable Internet. Unfortunately, every so often I lose my AIM connection for about a second or two then it comes right back up. I could be in the middle of downloading a file and it will drop the AIM connection and come back up without ever losing the download connection. Normally I wouldn't mind, but the AIM disconnect-tone is started to irritate me. I checked Linksys' website for a firmware update but did not find one. It can't be anything to do with the wireless part of the gateway because my computer is hard wired to the built-in 4-port switch. Any ideas? Thanks.
