We have an HP Designjet 500 at our office and we're moving soon. Our situation in the new office is such that we can't be within the required range for the parallel port. It only has a parallel port interface so is it possible to get a signal repeater like they have for USB?
I was thinking about just getting an usb extender cable then going to a usb-to-parallel converter. It sounds like it would work in theory but in practice the drivers might be slow and since its a large plotter I'd rather not deal with that. Is it possible to get just a parallel only extender?
