cable boxes

Guys,

I live in bay ridge area in brooklyn, NY and have a time warner basic analogue cable setup. I wanna set up a descrambler so that I can get all the channels. Does anyone know where I can get more info about getting the appropriate box?

1) Doing this is illegal. If you want all the channels, talk to your cable company and I'm sure they'll be happy to sell them to you.

2) Asking about help to do this will get you a vacation and/or ban.

Not smart. Time Warner, as do most major cable operators, have dedicated security teams to track down cable theft. It is a federal offense, by the way.

yea i would figure they are really cracking down on those kind of things. Besides most black boxes have been blocked because they found ways around it and what not.

Not only have they found ways around it, the buyer usually pays a hefty price for the box only to get knocked out when the company sends a system wide "bullet" that kills it. As far as the PPV filters that allow legal box users to watch all the PPV they want for free, the filter only blocks the return patch preventing the box from reporting purchases when it is polled each night. Once the box stops responding to the query it will either shut down due to an exceeded credit limit or the company will shut if off through the system. Guess what happens when the box is returned... the events are downloaded and the buys end up on the bill.
