Cable + AOL = bad news! Helpy!

My friend has cable, but her mom insists that she keeps AOL, so she has been using the Lan aspect of AOL to go on. It said that AOL is now her default way to connect to the internet. After she clicked that, she claims that she can't connect to the internet any other way... she has a valid IP address for cable, but when she's not connected to AOL, she can't go on AIM, can't go to any websites... nothing. This happen to anyone else? anyone have any ideas?

nevermind, I got it to work. (I had her uninstall AOL =)

Good. I couldn't imagine anyone who wouldn't want to leave AOL.
