Cab file issues

Hello

I am hoping someone can shed some light on a few issues I have and hopefully some way to rectify them.

I am on Win98Se and use AntiVir. After running AV last night I noticed in the log that there are problems in some of my cab files. I would love to post the log but it is extremely long.

Here are the warnings I got with AV. I will list them in the order they occur from the most to the least.

NOTE! Invalid compressed data (this one is about 90% of my problem)
WARNING! Error open file
NOTE! Incorrect decompression table

All in all I had 131 warnings in my AV log.

This is the first time I had noticed any warnings with AV after a scan so this is the first time I actually went through it's log.

Thanks

Done all the above with nothing that helped on this.

It seems AV was the only thing that saw this with some of my cab files.

Are they the standard cab file from the Windows install or from something else? There are a number of different apps who stored data in what they call 'cab' files. You can presume the Microsoft format is the 'normal' one, it's possible that you have some other data in a file with that extension by another vendor that your av program doesn't know how to parse.
