.cab file error. Help?

I just built a new system and installed XP. I've tried to install my new game (Temple of Elemental Evil) and a CAB file error keeps popping up. CRC error is the heading and it says that the C drive's install .dat doesn't match the file in setup's .cab file. Any ideas? :brokenheart:

are you installing from a CD? could be a bad / dirty / scratched CD.

Well... sounds like a damaged CD.

You will have to replace the .cab file with a new one. Try and get another copy from a friend.

Normally, once the game is installed (from a working CD) , you can still run it with your damaged CD.
