article: California signs up for nutty law banning camcorders from cinemas
Signs will be posted in Los Angeles County theaters informing customers of the new law. The law has been written with future technologies in mind and can equally apply to any type of recorder, including a mobile phone. So in California at least it is soon going to be illegal to take your phone into the cinema.
comments: *sigh* so much for taking candy into the theatres, seeing how i wouldnt be surprised if they did random bag searches and pat downs before you go into a theatre. i wouldnt mind cell phones being not allowed in, but still, people got to get home from the movies, and if its on vibrate and the person gets up and answers the call out in the lobby, then i dont have a problem with them. the theatres need to implement lockers or something then to store this stuff.

this is dumb to blame it on camcorders...have you ever seen a camcorder recorded movie? it looks like crap with people standing up and hearing their laughter, and the sound from the movie sounds like it was recorded in a tin can. go after the screeners or the oversea releases if you want to clamp down on bootlegging, sheesh.

if this is a repost, please inform me and i will edit the topic and request a topic lock.

no sh!t... this assh0le couple days ago... his cell phone rang twice in the movie, and he fvckin didnt shut it off.
the first time, he told the other end that he was in the theater and hung up. 10 minutes later, another call, and he talked on the phone for almost 45 seconds that he was gonna pick the beer / get there in an hour.

I was pissed.

ok, i understand after cell phones first came out that people forgot to shut them off...but ITS BEEN YEARS! its a button. just push the little button and turn it off or set it to vibrate. you get a call with the phone on vibrate, just quietly get up without drawing attention to yourself, walk out to the lobby, and answer it or call the person back. i also see people doing sh** like sending text messages mid-movie...

**attention assh*le sending the text message** your color phone emits a bright light that distracts people and makes them look over instead of focusing on the movie. just because you think you were courteous enough to not make a phone call mid-movie, you still arent a saint because you are still distracting others from the movie!!! **/attention assh*le sending the text message**
