Just another disgusting example of people expecting everything to be handed to them. If you can't pass the exit examination, how did you make it through your other class? if you don't know what a high school graduate should know then you should not graduate.

My grandfather taught me that. One afternoon when I was seven I complained to him of boredom, and he batted me hard on the head. He told me that I was never to use that term in his presence again, that if I was bored it was my fault and no one else's. The obligation to amuse and instruct myself was entirely my own, and people who didn't know that were childish people, to be avoided if possible. Certainty not to be trusted.

You grandfather was a wise man.

I'm going to forward your post on to my sister and sister-in-law (both are teachers) and see how they like it.

For everyone else who is too lazy to read that entire post, no cliffs for you, that is kinda the point of it all!

We in Ontario dont have exit exams per se, but exams for each class. But in Ontario 30% of all students drop out. Also a large amount do not graduate in there proper year. At my school only maybe 50% will graduate after 4 years.

Canadians are lucky in that a Bachelor degree is only 3 years versus 4 in the U.S.

Has anyone seen the test? I graduated before this happened.

I assume it's simple enough and it shouldn't be causing such a fuss, but I am curious as to what they believe "every highschooler should be able to do".
