C2D with fanless heatsink?

hi, im planning 2 buy a thermalright Ultra 90 or Ultra 120. Both are not bundled with a fan.
i'm trying 2 build a silent PC here, & wanna know whether it's possible not 2 install a fan with this model of heatsink. meanwhile O.C will not be in the near future, so i dun really need a super-cooler or sth similar.
But of course provided my C2D doesn't burn b4 dat.

I tested a E6600 at 2.4GHz and undervolted 1.1v with a fanless Scythe Ninja and one 120mm/800RPM exhaust fan. Dual prime95 reached a max of 55C using Intel TAT to measure so passive cooling with an Ultra-120 should be a piece of cake.

so do u implied that Thermalright is better than Scythe? actually i planned 2 get scythe too, but decided 2 go for thermalright instead. hopefully the Ultra-120 does lived up to expectations.
btw, im not so picky bout d brands or whatsoever, so any solutions here will be appreciated.

Very do-able!

I tested this with an E6600 @ 3.5ghz using a Thermalright Ultra 120 without a fan and it idled in the 50's.

A CPU @ stock voltage or even better, undervolted, would be no problem!

i used a scyda infinity fo about a week wit no fan on muh E6600 cus i fogot ta plug it in, and der were zero issues befoe i noticed it. - aww yea foo.

Undervolt the CPU a tenth or two of a volt, and as long as you have a rear case fan to move a tad bit of air over the heatsink, it'll do just fine.
