C2D versus my X2 boxes

note: I now have a E6400 at 3.43ghz...been running F@H solid for about a month...


besides the benches in the above thread where my dual core C2D annihilated 4 cores of the X2 and opterons...

In F@H...

WU 24xx'z...

X2 270's = 32-35mins per frame
X2 265's@2.5ghz = 28-30mins per frame
C2D E6300,6400,&E6600@3.4 = 14-16mins per frame

WU 2124,2125,2126

X2 270's = 50min per frame
X2 265's@2.5ghz = 42-44min per frame
C2D E6300,6400,&6600@3.4ghz = 23-26min per frame

Now these WUs take 24-40 hours on even my fast C2D systems...48-90+ on the AMD systems...that is more load then you do with that crap system of yours...


Every thing I do I feel the power of the C2D system. CAD rendering, encoding, dvdshrink, and Folding...

And Duvie and my numbers correspond exactly. I will be posting screen shots of dual F@H + dual orthos @ 3505 just for the person that is calling me a liar. I have been running this particular box @ 3466 for weeks, since it is stable at that, but I can do 3505 for at least a week. That should prove real stability.....

Edit. My boxes are a little warmer than Duvies, as I don't have as good of cooling, or cases, but so long as its under 60c, I am happy. I run 51 and 57 c on my 2 C2D's. Same temps on my X2's, but they put out data at 1/2 the speed of the C2D boxes.

I was a staunch AMD fan with several boxes...No Intel fanboy here as you claim of C2D fans....People see me scrap all of my quad boxes for dual core Intel boxes says volumes...

Also in 2 of my C2D boxes I run 2 instances of F@H at top temp of 41-43c.....Cool and quiet is how I explain my new C2D boxes...

Just show prime95 running at that speed ,not less than 12 hrs. I never doubt C2D can do those superficial benchmarks all in 32bit apps. Just doubt that it?s any good 24/7 and/or can be stable or sustain any stress without freezing on you. You never mentioned how long it took you getting those results. Was it about 150 reboots and 200 freeze ups?

not even close!!! Took me like 2-3 days to find the spots and then I let them all run 12 hours of Small FFT and 12 hours of blend...MOst of them never froze once...I get an error in orths I adjust. I run F@H 24/7 as shown by my near 3000ppd average with 6 cores.....

I am not about to stop folding to prove anything to you...Plus you will be likely gone in the next 12 hours anyways...

I am going to shut down orthos, and do a F@H screen copy after 12 hours or more to shut him up (@ 3.5!)

I will do F@H for a day or so, then re-post that pic. I don;t want to waste all that power on an idiot, so I shut down orthos to let F@H have all the cpu.. Even 7 minutes is not a suicide shot as he said I did. And again, this is on air cooling.

I dont think he is intelligent enough to understand the stability that is required to run F@H and not get EEU's.....Run it for a few days...let 3-4 WUs to pass....
