C2d system hangs after a few hours

Here's the deal with my new system, which I am now running at stock speeds, stock everything with th final f4 bios. Haven't gotten around to updating sig.

At stock the system passes all stability testing, memtests, stress tests, etc. However when I leave the computer on for a few hours straight without using it, I come back and the desktop looks all screwy and I cannot properly interact with it. Most common is a gray or white screen with the taskbar mysteriously moved to the top of the screen. I still have a cursor, but usually doesn't do anything when I click on the start button. Generally all the desktop icons are gone. Even if they aren't I can't click on them.

Can anyone help?? I don't even know where to start. I need this system to be stable 24/7 asap, please advise!!

Some other info not in my sig.. I am running XP Pro, Kapersky antivirus, on a wireless network.

That's messed up, I'd try disabling your antivirus and other startup programs and see if it still happens.
Also take a look at your Event Viewer (control panel - administrative tools) to see if there's anything suspicious.

Didn't work, still happening. The only unusual things in the event log are related to my wireless network, assigning network addresses, etc. Nothing suspicious.

Any advice would still be appreciated.

So, no one has any idea? Or is it that no one reads this forum? There seem to be a lot of posts. Please help, any suggestions appreciated.
