C2D System $1200 - Final Thoughts

Is it a good idea to be using that PSU for such a power hungry video card? How about adding a more "safe-minded" PSU like Seasonic/FSP/PC&P?
Good build BTW...drooool

it all looks good to me, i got the same vid card but i got the truepower 550w just to be safe, although i think that the 450w will do just fine. and are you sure that an 80gig hdd will cover it all?

edit: whoops didnt see the second part of the message, forget the hdd part

Yea, just skip on that PSU. Corsair HX520W if you are going to do Crossfire. 460W Enhance ENP or Masscool Nextherm if not.

Why an 80GB 7200.9? If he is going to be playing games and have any amount of media (MP3/video/movie and demos etc) on his PC, 80GB isn't going to last. Add another $40 and get the 7200.10 320GB 16MB cache SATA-2. Not only is it 4 times as big for less than twice the cash ($40 is nothing anyway in a $1200 budget) but the 7200.10 is significantly faster than the 7200.9 for load times and transfers.

Definitely go with the bigger hard drive....not much more $$ when you look at total system cost.

Case is fine, but PSU is so-so.

Enhance 5140gh FTW! Will be more than enough to power that rig.
There was some really... really cheap gskill ddr2-800 RAM that went OOS yesterday, like $150 for 2gb.
There is a new foxconn 965p board worth checking out too...
