c2d on 945g chipset?

i was wondering if this was possible and if there are any, what are the draw backs to 945g instead of the suggested 975 or 965 chipsets??

yes that is what brought my attention to it but i have seen many threads that say, full c2d capabilities can only be accomplished with 965, 975 and i think 955 chipsets. So i guess my real question is can i run c2d on my 945g-nt intel mobo???

Dont know as i havent jumped on the C2D bandwagon but maybe theyre talking about overclocking capabilites?
 
What I would do is check for the latest BIOS for that board you have, and see if under the added updates section over a previous BIOS claims support for Core 2 chips. It likely won't work without such a BIOS update if the board is even capable of running a Core 2.
