C2D E6300 temps

stackoverflow

Junior Member
Hello,

I am getting 42C idle and 60C full load temps for both the cores.
I am using intel thermal analysis tool and core temp to check the core temps.
I have check the HSF and it is properly mounted.
I am using stock HSF

Bios CPU fan control is off and the fan rotates at over 2200 RPM.
How can I reduce the temps, I heard that if it goes above 60C it may be a problem for the CPU.

Please help.
Zalman coolers and all are not available here in india.

The C2D chips have been having a problem with concave heat spreaders. They aren't making solid contact with the heatsink. My e6600 is a little concave. My temps are 46 idle, and 57 at full load with orthos(overclocked at 3.06ghz). I don't think that's too bad, but I'll probably end up lapping the cpu sometime in the future. That's probably the first course of action to take. Make sure your heatsink is making good contact.

Addendum: India's a pretty warm place, If you're running your computer in a non airconditioned room. I think those temperatures are perfectly normal. They're rated for a little over 60C, but I wouldn't start worrying about until you go over 65C for sustained periods.
