C:\windows\web subdir QUESTION

BadThad

Lifer
Has anyone here tried to totally delete the WEB subdir? It contains info for channels and off-line cached web pages. There is also a "wallpaper" subdir below that contains the active desktop wallpapers. I don't use active desktop nor off-line web pages. I'm thinking I can delete this trash.

Here is an explantion of the files in that subdir:
MICROSOFT

The only problem I see is that several reg keys point to these files. Do a search for "preload" in the registry. The offending keys could possibly be removed as well.

I could easily just backup and delete the reg and subdir "garbage", but I was first wondering if any guru's have tried this.

??? anyone ???

shouldn't have any problems.. I delete mine. but I'm running with Opera 5/Nescape 4. I don't use IE. if you are worry about it, just move the contents to another directory and see if anything will go wrong, if it did go wrong, just move it back..
