c-media vs audigy 2

My question is quit simpel, I have a onboard sound thingy called c-media, and I was wondering if I bought a audigy 2 would it increase my computer performence much.

My comp

Intel 3.06
asrock Ge pro-ht 533
1 gig ram
5900 nvidia bah
and a lot of other things.

The Audigy2 is definitely more powerful and requires less CPU intervention, so you will enjoy higher framerates. The difference may not be large though, but if you can afford it, why not?

the difference may not be large, its not even there! The video card is mostly always the limiting factor.. unless you like playing at 320x480.

You should have gotten a better motherboard (and a P4C) IMO and you wouldn't need to worry about your sound . But anyways, you wouldn't see much of a difference at all, certainly not worth the price of an Audigy2.
