I got a machine that goes thru post fine....then win 98 screen comes on but dosent load ...I get error reading drive c then it locks up...any help would be great.....also ..this might be a stupid question(I'm sure it is) but can I boot a 98 machine with a 95 or me boot up disk to get to dos if I dont have a 98 handy?

Any boot disk will work. Since it's booting from the floppy, then it doesn't care what is on the hard drive.

As far as the C drive problem...you might not have enough disk space to generate the swap file. If you think that might be it, then load DOS using a boot disk and use DOS commands to remove some files. If you can't access the C drive from DOS, then you probably have a toasty drive. I seriously doubt that though since the system is posting.

If you can't access the files from within DOS, you can try to see if you can format the drive. Also, check fdisk and see if there are any partitions listed for your drive. Let us know what you find.

Good luck.
