C Drive Full ** Replaced Drive**

I have a 45 gig hdd as my C drive. It is full and I have moved/deleted/uninstalled all programs I don't need on C or don't use any more. (Seems some programs have to reside on C).

I'd like to copy my C drive to a larger hdd and still have all the same functionality I have now with my BIOS, programs and other hdds. In other words, I don't want to format/reinstall.

Is this possible to copy/clone this hdd on another hdd and not have issues because the OS/BIOS, etc sees it as a different hdd? Any free software that works well?

TIA

UPDATE:
Ordered a 500 GB WD hdd . It came and I downloaded the software the WD site. Now instead of a 40 GB C drive, I have a 500 GB C drive.
Thanks again.

Most drive manufacturers provide free drive cloning tools that you can use to upgrade your hard drive to a faster/larger drive.

Details: FARDRINGLE TYPES FASTER THAN I!!!

Most drive manufacturers have a utility which will do the clone for you.
They are free and available on their websites.

The only difference between one of these vs. a product like Acronis is that these utilities need to see at least one of the drives in your system as THEIR PRODUCT.

Tip: Disconnect all other HDs from your system before running this so you don't get the source and target drives cornfuzed.
